What is a Gigapixel (GP)?
A Gigapixel (GP) is a unit of measurement equal to one billion pixels. Trendspek uses this to measure the processing work required to create your 3D models.
When you upload photos, the platform calculates a total GP value for your project. This value represents the computational effort required and is the primary unit used for your billing.
How is a Gigapixel (GP) different from a Gigabyte (GB)?
A Gigabyte (GB) measures the file size of your photos for data storage, while a Gigapixel (GP) measures the computational work required to create your 3D model.
The key difference for your bill is that the charge is based on the GP used for the process, not the GB of data you store.
How does Trendspek use GP for billing?
Trendspek uses GP as the direct measure for your billing. The process is designed to be transparent and follows these steps:
Price Check: After you upload your photos, the platform first displays the exact GP cost required for the process.
Balance Check: The system then checks your available GP balance, which leads to one of two outcomes:
If your balance is sufficient, you can proceed with the process, and the GP cost will be deducted upon completion.
If your balance is insufficient, the process is paused. You will be prompted to pay for the remaining amount before the process can begin.
What actions do not consume GP?
There are specific cases where you will not be charged GP for processing work:
Capture Analysis: Using the Capture Analysis feature is provided at no GP cost.
Viewing Demo Assets: Viewing pre-existing demo assets that the Trendspek team provides for your account does not consume GP.
Processing During a Free Trial: In contrast, if you are on a free trial and choose to upload and process your own new assets, this action does require GP.
