IFC BIM models uploaded after January 2026 support full metadata interrogation in Trendspek.
BIM metadata can be accessed in several ways, depending on whether you are inspecting the reality model, searching the BIM model directly, or enriching annotations with BIM data.
Query BIM Model from Reality Model
If your asset has a BIM model available, you can query BIM information directly from the reality model.
To do this, right-click on the area or component of interest and select Find BIM Data.
The matching BIM element will be highlighted, and any available attribute data will be displayed in the BIM Data panel.
Search BIM Model
Begin by setting your primary layer to a BIM model and switching the BIM data panel to the BIM Element Filter tab
Search for a keyword of interest, in the example below I have searched Railing
Enrich Annotations with BIM Model
Create an annotation on your asset (reality or BIM layer)
The BIM tab will automatically associate to the matched element, and contain all data as shown below
This data is available when querying annotations via our API enabling seamless integration with existing systems
