Inconsistent White Balance
Inconsistent White Balance

Inconsistent white balance can lead to blotchy model textures or even cause the processing to fail.

Notice in the below example that some of the images are very warm and orange, where as others are cool and white. This is the result of Auto White Balance.

For consistency you should not use automatic white balance (WB). In the above example it has caused inconsistent and blotchy textures on the 3D model (left) however in more severe cases it can cause the processing to fail all together.

Solution

Use manual white balance and adjust it to yield similar tints throughout the capture.
