Creating an Annotation

πŸ’‘ You can find more detailed instructions for Creating an Annotation in this article.

To create an annotation, right-click on the model and click start drawing.

We’ve created a Pin (below), but you can create a line or a polygon just by continuing to right-click.

Click finish when you’re done.

Click create to open up the annotation and give your annotation a name.

Here, Trendspek will autosave.

Overview Tab

The overview tab shows the drawing type and some information about the drawing on the 3D model, including:

  • Measurement Information

  • Unique ID - which can be copied as a link, allowing you to share the annotation with a colleague

  • Camera Position

  • Description

Measurement Information

This includes measurement information about the drawing, including:

  • Latitude

  • Longitude

  • Elevation

Depending on the drawing type, additional information is available.

Drawing a line would include the line’s length and slope.

Drawing a polygon would include the perimeter and the area as well as optional volume measurements.

Unique ID

Every annotation generates a unique Annotation ID. This can be copied as a link, allowing you to share the annotation with a colleague.

Camera Position

The default pose or position of the camera can be updated, so when a user views this annotation, they will by default see the current view.

You can change this position by moving the camera accordingly and clicking update. However, clicking reset will take you back to the previously saved position.

Description

Description is a fixed field where further information about the annotation can be added.

Drawings Tab

The Drawings Tab is where you can restyle the current drawing.

Here you can change the icon and the colour.

Data Tab

The Data Tab is where you can utilise the Trendspek Template system.

Click on Assign to bring up the template menu and choose one of your custom templates.

Click Apply New Template and the annotation card will be populated with the custom data from the template chosen.

You can have as many templates as required, and each template can have as many custom fields as required, providing granularity and flexibility over how you set up Trendspek to conform to your reporting requirements.

πŸ’‘ Learn more about Templates here.

Images Tab

The Images Tab allows you to view all of the original images captured by the drone that contain the defect.

This tab allows you to view the images, see further information, download the images for offline analysis, and produce an updated list of images by clicking regenerate.

Files Tab

The Files Tab allows you to upload and catalogue additional data.

There are no restrictions as to what you can upload and store within the files tab however it will count towards your plan's storage capacity.

There is a folder system here as well, so you can create custom folders to organise your files.

You can right-click on files/folders in order to perform actions such as:

  • View File

  • Download File

  • Rename File

  • Delete File

  • Rename Folder

  • Select Folder (this activates the folder so that all files uploaded land here)

  • Collapse Folder

  • Upload Folder (this allows you to upload an entire folder of data in one go)

  • Upload Files

  • Delete Folder

Discussion Tab

The Discussions Tab allows you to collaborate with other stakeholders, so you can send messages directly within the annotation here.

History Tab

The history tab outlines the history of the annotation card β†’ Who created it? Who changed it? When did they change it? What did they change?

The history is laid out in an easy-to-consume timeline, which you can see below.
