Trendspek streamlines the process of importing annotation data with just a few clicks. Whether your data comes from a field collection app, an existing report, or another source, Trendspek handles it effortlessly. Imported data may include positional information, and if not, you can quickly add drawings using the intuitive workflow described below. This article is broken up into three sections:

โš ๏ธ The Bulk Import button is only available on the Pro plan and above.

Importing data via CSV

Begin by navigating to the Reporting Page for the asset you wish to import data to and click on IMPORT ANNOTATIONS as shown below.

This will bring up the Import Annotations Tool shown Below.

Often, your asset will have been captured multiple times, resulting in multiple datasets. In the Dataset field below, choose the dataset to which you want to import your annotations. Next, select the desired template for these annotations in the Template field. Carefully review the Import Instructions for Annotation Data, as they will vary based on your custom chosen template. These instructions will detail the data validation requirements.

Click DOWNLOAD CSV to export a CSV file to use for the basis of your import.

โ“ We recommend importing your CSV file to Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel for easy editing, but you may choose to edit the CSV file directly.

Once imported into your chosen spreadsheet editor, your CSV may look similar to the table shown below

Begin editing the file. Each row should contain an annotation that you wish to import, as shown below. You are able to import as many annotations as you wish, so long as the CSV file does not exceed 10MB. You are able to split the data into multiple imports if required.

Once you have prepared your data in your spreadsheet editor, export it to CSV. Once exported, the above data looks like this:

Name,Description,Latitude,Longitude,Elevation,Defect Notes,Severity,Type,Capex/Opex,Cost Estimate
Crack,Large Crack,,,,This large crack requires further investigation,5,Crack,Capex,AUD 23000
Calcium Deposits,Large calcium deposits present,-33.7376487,150.7889377,-16.3,Large calcium deposits were observed whilst on site,1,Calcium Deposits,,
Railing,Please associate this import to the railing on site and confirm if compliant,,,,,,,,

Return to Trendspek, and click Choose File. Select the CSV file you prepared earlier. Once chosen, click IMPORT to commence the import of the annotation data.

You will see a success message upon import completion. If any rows fail, a CSV will be downloaded that contains the failed imports.
