Getting started with Trendspek and interacting with 3D Precision Reality Twins.

Welcome to Trendspek! To get you started quickly, let's go over some of the fundamentals of using your new software.

Video Overview (10 min)

Model Navigation

To orbit around the model use:

  • The left mouse button or;

  • Click and scroll using a trackpad.

The model will then orbit around the point of where you clicked, or where the mouse cursor.

To zoom in and out on the model use :

  • The mouses scroll wheel or;

  • Two fingers on a trackpad (similar to an iPad)

To laterally move side to side use :

  • The left mouse button and hold the shift key or;

  • Click and scroll using a trackpad while holding the shift key.

Photo Navigation

To view an image that contains a selected point on the model, simply right-click on that point on the model.

You can also view all of the associated photos in the thumbnail section along with the displaying camera positions, as well as being able to adjust photo brightness and contrast.


Drawings and Measurements

The drawing tool is the start of measuring surfaces.

With a simple right-click, you can place points down on the model to create:

  • Pins

  • Lines (Measure distance height and slope)

  • Polygons (Measure perimeters, area, volume, azimuth and tilt)

By clicking Finish and Create the drawing will display the corresponding annotation card.

Shortcut:

Hit the Shift key and right click to start drawing right away.

Annotations

Annotation Cards are your filing cabinets attached to the model directly.

You can take notes, highlight risks, upload files, view photographs and communicate in-app with stakeholders.

Click any markup on the model to open the Annotation Card.

Within a saved Annotation Card, you will see (depending on permission level) Tabs including:

  • Overview shows Details like Drawing Type, Annotation ID, P2P Distance, Height Change, Gradient, Camera Pose

  • Drawings is where you can change icon/colour of your drawings

  • Data tab with customisable template dropdowns

  • Images tab that contains your original photographs

  • Files tab to store additional photos, video or documents

  • Discussions tab to message other users

  • History tab that will show what has changed within the card

Trend Monitoring

With multiple datasets of one asset, you can use the timeline viewer or side-by-side viewer to view changes over time and build a complete digital record.

This will enable you to make direct comparisons to two datasets:

  • Compare asset condition over time

  • Assess the cause of a defect with a digital timeline and track repairs

  • Compare different data outputs such as Reality, Thermal, Laser Scan etc
